IBM Personal Computer was the first to introduce the first Motherboard in 1981.At that time it was referred to as Planner instead of the motherboard. The motherboard is also known as the foundation of a computer. It is a printed circuit board fixed to the back side, or commonly at the bottom of the base of the computer. To replace a motherboard means to build a whole new entire machine. It is the source of power for the functioning of all the parts of the computer like CPU, RAM, and all other hardware components. It has different parts like power connectors, memory slots, CPU socket, heat sinks, serial port connectors, integrated and voltage regulator module (VRM).
